Champagne Brice
The first written traces of the history of the Parish of Bouzy date back to 1684, at the dawn of the vinification of the first bottles of Champagne. At that time, the village, home to around thirty inhabitants, had a handful of families, including the Sergent, the Robert, the Loire, the Barancourt, the Grandvallet and the Yvonnet, all pioneers in the cultivation of the vine and the direct ancestors of the Brice, their first generation. In 1945, René BRICE took the reins of the exploitation, modernizing working methods and relaunching production after the phylloxera crisis. Under his leadership, the family cellars expanded and the first vintages of Champagne BRICE were created, thus marking the beginning of a new era for the estate. In 1966, Jean-Paul BRICE returned to the estate and extended the vineyard to the Aube department. In 1994, he breathed new life into the family by becoming a merchant and joining the Union des Maisons de Champagne. From then on, the supply of external grapes enriched the production of the House. A positioning thus marking the beginning of a new phase of growth for the estate, now led by the eleventh generation represented by Remi and Jean-René BRICE. Today, Maison Brise produces 100,000 bottles each year, exporting more than 30% of their production. The estate is has established itself over the years as a reference in the vinification of Bouzy Rouge, the champagnes are exclusively distributed in renowned restaurants and traditional wine merchants. Through each bottle, the Brice house expresses the family's unwavering attachment to their terroir, a story of passion and loyalty that can be savored with every sip.
