The Carte d'Or Grand Cru cuvée from the Cazals house is a Blanc de Blancs champagne of remarkable intensity and purity, perfect for an aperitif thanks to its freshness and liveliness. The Cazals house is located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most prestigious villages of the Côte des Blancs. This village, which saw the birth of famous houses such as Salon and Delamotte, is renowned for its very chalky vineyards. The vineyards of Mesnil-sur-Oger and the neighboring village of Oger produce grapes of great liveliness, resulting in champagnes that gain in complexity after a few years of aging. Classified as Grand Cru, the terroirs of Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger represent the highest level of the Champagne appellation, an honor shared by only 17 villages. The Carte d'Or Grand Cru cuvée is a Blanc de Blancs champagne, made exclusively from Chardonnay from these two villages. Vinified in stainless steel vats to preserve its freshness, this champagne is then aged for 3 years in the house's chalky cellars, ensuring an ideal constant temperature.
Dosed in Brut at 7g/l, this cuvée highlights the aromas of citrus fruits and pastry. It is distinguished by a golden color with slightly green reflections, with very fine and lively bubbles. On the nose, the Carte d'Or Grand Cru cuvée reveals elegant notes of citrus fruits such as lemon, yuzu and grapefruit. Over time, rounder and spicier aromas, such as vanilla and white pepper, emerge. On the palate, this champagne offers a lively and energetic attack, followed by an airy and delicate texture. The long and lemony finish is enhanced by beautiful bitters, leaving a lasting impression of finesse and elegance. Serving temperature: 8°C.
