The Vive Grand Cru cuvée from the Cazals house is a Blanc de Blancs champagne that stands out for its freshness, lightness and liveliness, ideal for an aperitif or to accompany oysters and shellfish. The Cazals house is located in Mesnil-sur-Oger. Among the villages of the Côte des Blancs, it is one of the most prestigious. Thus, the House benefits from an exceptional terroir. This village, home to famous houses such as Delamotte and Salon, is home to very chalky vineyards, offering grapes of great liveliness. The wines from these terroirs often require a few years of aging to reach their peak. Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger are classified Grand Cru, the highest level of the Champagne appellation, a privilege reserved for only 17 villages. The Vive Grand Cru cuvée, composed exclusively of chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, is vinified in stainless steel vats to preserve maximum freshness and liveliness. After maturing for 6 years in the house's chalky cellars, this champagne acquires remarkable depth and complexity.
Dosed in Extra Brut at 3g/l, the cuvée highlights tangy and floral aromas. It has a golden color with slightly green highlights, with very fine and lively bubbles. On the nose, it offers elegant notes of citrus fruits and white flowers, evolving towards aromas of brioche and white fruits. On the palate, this cuvée is lively and energetic on the attack, followed by an airy and delicate texture. The finish stretches out at length on a saline touch, making this champagne a perfect choice for moments of refined tasting. Serving temperature: 8°C.
Awards : 16/20 Le Point and 1 Hachette star.
