The Brut Nature Cramant Grand Cru from Maison Lombard is a non-dosed blanc de blancs champagne with gourmet and round notes, faithful to the Chardonnay grown on the Cramant terroir. The aging of this Blanc de Blancs cuvée is done entirely in stainless steel vats, thus preserving all the characteristic freshness of the chalky soil of Cramant. In order to highlight the beautiful energy of this terroir, the cellar master chose to block the malolactic fermentation. This Brut Nature Cramant Grand Cru is then aged between 4 and 5 years in the cellars of the house in Épernay, allowing the aromas to fully develop. The rich and gourmet Chardonnays of Cramant offer in this cuvée brioche, pastry accents, and notes of sweet spices, while retaining great freshness and delicacy. Revealing its full potential at a temperature of 10°C, this champagne is ideal for an aperitif, promising a refined taste experience. Awards: 17/20 Gault & Millau.

"The Cramant terroir produces rich Chardonnays: the soil drainage is moderate and the sunshine is favorable to the development of maturity. This champagne is undosed to reveal its ample and mineral identity." Cellar Master

THE BRAND

The Lombard champagne house , established to the west of the Montagne de Reims in Champagne, was founded in 1925. The birth of the house was the fruit of the passion of an agricultural engineer from Montpellier, Robert Andrieu. From 1950 to 1975, his son-in-law Philippe Lombard continued his work by increasing sales volumes. Subsequently, from 1975 to 2017, Thierry Lombard took the reins of the company and oriented its development towards the international market. In 2004, a major turning point marked the history of the house. That year, two crucial decisions were made. First, the company invested in the purchase of vines to the west of the Montagne de Reims, mainly classified as premier cru. This vineyard, now integrated into the property, extends over 5.5 hectares, thus constituting a precious asset for the house. At the same time, the method of managing the vines has also evolved: after initial experiments with grassing, the house opted for working the soil, an approach that reflects its commitment to environmentally friendly viticultural practices. In 2017, the arrival of Thomas Lombard, Thierry's son, marked a new era for the house. The latter is distinguished in particular by a fold-out back label rich in practical information. Still belonging to the eponymous family, the house has been run by Thomas Lombard since 2017, under the benevolent tutelage of his father Thierry. Laurent Vaillant, for his part, takes on the role of cellar master. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2022, demonstrating the House's desire to produce quality champagnes while respecting nature.
