The Cuvée Rosé Grand Cru is a rosé champagne combining the finesse and purity of Chardonnays from Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger (Côte des Blancs) with the intensity of Pinot Noirs from Verzenay (Montagne de Reims). Located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most prestigious locations on the Côte des Blancs, the Cazals house benefits from an exceptional terroir. This village, the cradle of illustrious houses such as Salon and Delamotte, is home to very chalky vineyards, producing grapes of great liveliness. The champagnes from these terroirs often require a few years of aging to fully reveal their potential. Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger are classified Grand Cru, a title reserved for only 17 Champagne villages, representing the summit of the appellation. The grapes come from the ripest plots, where the average age of the vines is 40 years, allowing to create a smooth, rich and persistent brut champagne on the palate. Every year, during the harvest, Delphine, the winemaker, goes to a friend's house in Verzenay, Grand Cru, to choose the barrel of red wine intended for this cuvée.
Dosed in Brut at 7 gr/l, the Cuvée Rosé Grand Cru highlights its gourmet aromas. It has a pink color with pale reflections, with very fine and lively bubbles. On the nose, this champagne reveals notes of small red fruits and blood orange. On the palate, it offers an energetic attack, a beautiful minerality and elegant aromas, making this cuvée a perfect choice to accompany refined dishes or to savor during an aperitif.
