Les Chemins d'Avize 2012 , created by Pierre and Sophie Larmandier, is a vintage Blanc de Blancs champagne . It is a cuvée of exquisite freshness and remarkable elegance, carrying within it the generosity of the Avize terroir and all the breadth of the 2012 vintage. The Larmandier-Bernier family created Les Chemins d'Avize in 2009 to further enrich their range of single-plot cuvées. A range already made up of Vieilles Vignes de Cramant, the Terre de Vertus cuvée and the Rosé de Saignée. This cuvée is the result of isolating grapes from two plots that have stood out year after year during tastings. Located in the heart of the village of Avize, on the sites called "Chemin de Plivot" and "Chemin de Flavigny", these plots benefit from extremely chalky soils. The old vines, over 50 years old, draw from the depths floral and mineral aromas of striking beauty. After aging in oak barrels and tuns on lees, followed by resting for at least 6 years in the cool cellars of the house, this champagne is born. Its low dosage (2g/l) allows all its finesse and minerality to be fully expressed. Les Chemins d'Avize 2012 reveals an incredible minerality, offering magnificent notes of white flowers, limestone and chalk. With a beautiful tension and remarkable aromatics, it finishes on smoky and spicy notes. This champagne, nervous and endowed with a strong personality, has an astonishing length in the mouth. It is to be served as an aperitif or at the start of a meal at 9°C.
