THE BRAND
Founded in 1812 by André-Michel Pierlot, a former cooper and bottler from Chigny-les-Roses, the Champagne House took its current name, Veuve Laurent-Perrier, when, in full expansion, Mathilde Emilie Perrier decided to merge the family names. This initiative marked the beginning of a succession of visionary women at the head of the company. In 1925, Eugénie Hortense Laurent inherited the House, then handing over the reins to Marie-Louise de Nonancourt, née Lanson, in 1939. Today, Laurent-Perrier is recognized worldwide as one of the greatest champagne brands. Each wine from the House demonstrates unparalleled audacity and creativity, responding to the aspirations of an era passionate about discovery. Each cuvée tells its story, revealing a unique personality. Beyond its excellence in champagne, Laurent-Perrier embodies an epicurean art of living, celebrating the pleasures and art of the table. As a reminder, it is an independent family Champagne House and is a pillar of the Laurent-Perrier group, founded in 1983 by Bernard de Nonancourt, the visionary behind the Salon, Delamotte and de Castellane brands, who bought Laurent-Perrier in 1948. From the cellar to international markets, Bernard de Nonancourt devoted himself body and soul to raising the brand to the top. His motto, "quality of wines, quality of people" guided each of his actions. In particular, he introduced the Brut Nature and the Cuvée Rosée, thus shaping the distinctive style of the House around finesse, freshness and elegance. These values have since spread across the world, present in more than 160 countries today. Maximilien Bernardeau took the reins as the new cellar master in 2023, continuing the legacy of excellence established by his predecessor.
