In 1974, one hundred years after the invention of Cristal, Jean-Claude Rouzaud launched the Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé cuvée. To do this, he carefully selected old Pinot Noir vines located on the best terroirs of the Grand Cru d'Aÿ. Composed of approximately 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay, 20% of which are vinified in oak tuns, Cristal Rosé is produced using the saignée method after cold maceration. This cuvée benefits from an average of six years of maturation in cellars. From the attack on the palate, the aromatic intensity is immediately felt, revealing an imposing roundness and smooth, sweet flavors of white flowers, red fruits, caramel and tarte Tatin. The texture, round, ample and refined from the start of the palate, is typical of the Louis Roederer house. It is supported by a vinous structure, without being full-bodied, and by a beautiful freshness. This combination gives an impression of great finesse and reinforces the precision of this exceptional vintage.
“Cristal Rosé 2014 with its ripe, slender fruit and delicious texture is incredibly precise. A delight, almost electric, with a high intensity of taste.”— Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Cellar Master
