Champagne Philippe Lancelot
In the early 19th century, Jean-Baptiste Lancelot began his winemaking career in Cramant while also being Head Winemaker at Mumm. His son, Jean, also involved in several houses, began bottling champagne from his own vineyards. The first sales took place just after the Second World War. Subsequently, Albert, one of Jean's sons, trained in oenology and married Brigitte Pienne, whose family owned vineyards in Monthelon, in the south d'Epernay. In 1967, the properties were merged, giving birth to the Lancelot-Pienne house. In 1995, their son Gilles, a trained oenologist, took over the reins. Gilles Lancelot united his destiny with that of Céline Perceval, and today they reside in one of the magnificent residences of Cramant, formerly owned by Mumm. In 2012, the transition to biodynamic practices was initiated on all plots, leading to obtaining AB Ecocert certification in 2014, Demeter in 2015 and Biodyvin in 2020.
