Cuvée Jour 1: Avize, Le Levant from Maison Odyssée 319 marks the beginning of a journey through the village of Avize, exploring the diversity of its terroirs. Composed entirely of Chardonnay harvested in 2014, this vintage blanc de blancs champagne comes from the southern plots of Avize Grand Cru. They are located in the Côte des Blancs. Le Levant captures the typicality of this area, where the plots located at the bottom and in the middle of the hillside are distinguished by their precocity and are often harvested earlier. The year 2014 was marked by slightly milder temperatures and consistent rain, with the start of the growing cycle 10 days earlier thanks to warm weather in April. Flowering took place in June, followed by a summer alternating between dry, wet and cool periods. This year's Chardonnays reveal aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits, presenting a generous and tangy mouth. Once the bottling stage is completed, the bottles benefit from a long aging in the cellar, developing maturity and finesse. Dosed at 8.3 g/L, this Brut cuvée is characterized by its roundness, amplitude and generosity. Its mentholated, persistent and refreshing finish prolongs the pleasure of tasting. The Jour 1 cuvée: Avize, Le Levant, vintage 2014, from Maison Odyssée 319, represents a gentle and continuous evolution, celebrating the time and patience necessary to produce a great champagne. This champagne can be enjoyed both as an aperitif and with an entire meal. For optimal tasting, it is served at 10°C.
Reward : 90/100 Richard Juhlin.
