The Carte d'Or cuvée from the prestigious Drappier house is a brut champagne that is fruity, slightly vinous and refreshing. It is perfect to accompany a cocktail or enhance a dinner aperitif. This taste harmony is the result of a meticulous blend, mainly composed of Pinot Noir (80%), which gives it its structure and fruity aromas, complemented by a touch of suppleness provided by the Pinot Meunier (5%) and the freshness and elegance of the Chardonnay (15%). After maturing for three years in the cellars of the House, the Carte d'Or Drappier cuvée is dosed at 6.5 g/L before revealing all its secrets when tasted. Awards: 88/100 Guide Parker, 90/100 Wine Spectator, 14/20 Bettane et Desseauve and 15.5/20 Gault Millau.

THE BRAND

The Drappier house , established in 1808 in Urville by François Drappier, began modestly with a few hectares of vines. Over the years, its expansion has been gradual. In 1930, Georges Collot, maternal grandfather of Michel Drappier, current director of the company, undertook a bold initiative by replanting Pinot Noir in Urville, thus reviving a grape variety that had disappeared from the region. Initially mocked and nicknamed "Father Pinot", his vision proved prophetic. Today, Pinot Noir proudly dominates 75% of the Urville vineyards, and constitutes almost the majority of the grape varieties of the Drappier estate . In 1965, a Drappier Pinot Noir cuvée seduced General de Gaulle, who adopted it for his family moments in Colombey-les-deux-Églises. As a fan of the strong character of Champagne Drappier, he became one of its most illustrious clients. At that time, Maison Drappier gained fame, becoming inextricably linked to the emblematic figure of the General. His favorite Champagne was on the tables of La Boisserie, his private residence near Urville. In 1990, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the appeal of June 18, the Charles de Gaulle cuvée was born, a vibrant tribute to this great man in the history of France. Currently, the vineyard of Maison Drappier covers an area of 55 hectares, supplemented by the purchase of grapes for an almost equivalent area. Michel and Sylvie's three children, Charline, Hugo and Antoine, represent the eighth generation of the Drappier family, thus perpetuating the tradition and winemaking heritage of the house. The best vintages from Maison Drappier include Brut Nature champagne, Carte D'Or, Charles de Gaulle vintage, Clarevallis, Grande Sendrée 2010 and Brut Exception Millésimé.
