The Brut Grand Cru from the Franck Bonville champagne house is distinguished by its freshness and finesse. This Blanc de Blancs champagne comes from the Grand Cru terroirs of Avize and Oger. Composed of a blend of three years, this brut champagne embodies the style of the House, highlighting minerality and lightness. This cuvée rested for 30 months in the cellar, before being disgorged 9 months after bottling. The Brut Grand Cru from Franck Bonville is ideal for an aperitif. It has a golden color with straw yellow highlights and reveals a seductive nose, marked by brioche and slightly buttery aromas, complemented by fresh citrus notes. After a light aeration, scents of stewed fruits enrich this aromatic palette. On the palate, the attack is fresh and frank, followed by a beautiful smoothness in the middle of the mouth that recalls brioche and buttery flavors, with a light finish. This aperitif champagne is very pleasant, awakening the taste buds and opening the appetite. To reveal all its qualities, this champagne is served at a temperature of 9°C. This Brut Grand Cru has received several distinctions: 15/20 Bettane & Desseauve, 89/100 Gault & Millau, a mention in the Hachette guide, 16.5/20 Jancis Robinson, 60/100 Richard Juhlin, 90/100 Wine Spectator and 91/100 Tyson Stelzer.

THE BRAND

The history of the Franck Bonville Champagne house begins with its founder, Alfred Bonville, in the year 1900. Living in Oger, he began looking for plots of land to plant vines, a bold challenge at a time still marked by the fresh memory of the phylloxera crisis. He chose the Avisé terroir, located a few hours' journey on horseback from his home. In the 1930s, Alfred joined forces with his son Franck. Together, they acquired a winegrower's house in 1937. It was located in the heart of the village, equipped with a press, a cellar and barrels. Despite the economic difficulties of the time, they persevered in their commitment to viticulture. At the end of the war, the Bonville Père et Fils Champagne house launched its own vintages and saw its vineyard expand. In the 1960s, the company acquired tractors, marking a new era in local viticulture. In 1970, Domaine Franck Bonville modernized its winery by replacing the tuns with steel vats, then with stainless steel vats at the end of the 20th century. Olivier Bonville joined the operation in 1996, after having acquired valuable experience in various Corsican and German vineyards.
