The Les Fortes Terres cuvée is the first 100% Meunier cuvée of the House, it comes 100% from the Terroir Cuisles (plots from the lieu-dit "Les Fortes Terres"). Cédric Moussé chose this terroir because during blind tastings, the champagnes from this lieu-dit stood out each year for their remarkable quality. The power and tension of this vintage champagne perfectly reflect the unique identity of this soil. The grapes come exclusively from the lieu-dit "Les Fortes Terres" in Cuisles. On this terroir, the steep slopes in the middle of the hillsides, shaped by centuries of erosion, create shallow soils where the green clay surfaces a few centimeters deep. This results in concentrated grapes with aromas of white fruits, dominated by white peach. The harvest is carried out manually in 15 kg market gardening crates to preserve the integrity of the bunches and limit self-pressing. The year 2018, marked by generally warm temperatures, produced grapes of exceptional maturity and concentration. Malolactic fermentation is carried out and micro-vinification in reduction is done in small stainless steel containers. The bottles are aged for 48 months, and after disgorging, this extra brut champagne, practically natural, is barely dosed at 0.5 g/L. The Les Fortes Terres cuvée by Cédric Moussé has a superb aging potential of at least 20 years and will pair perfectly with duck in all its forms. Serving temperature: 9°C.
