Champagne Dehours
Jérôme Dehours' champagnes perfectly reflect his unique personality and strong character. His story begins with a battle, the one he fought to recover the family estate after his father's death, which had fallen into the hands of financiers. Well Although he won this fight, the farm found itself in a precarious financial situation. For four generations, the house established in Cerseuil, a charming village on the southern slopes of the valley, has been run by Jérôme Dehours. Since 1996, under his leadership management, it has diversified its vintages and styles, taking advantage mainly of the clay-limestone and sandy-limestone soils of the left bank of the Marne. The characterful champagnes it offers, mainly made from the meunier grape variety, are distinguished by their flesh and energy, combined with a soft and delicate bubble. The specific plots are carefully aged in wood, in old barrels of 200 to 500 liters, offering controlled aging processes that add a subtle patina. This charming fusion of vivacity and gourmandize characterizes these champagnes, which are both enjoyable in their youth and capable of aging well. The champagnes tasted this year show remarkable balance and faithfully reflect their terroir of origin. They reveal the richness of the clay and the delicacy of the sand, enhanced by a subtle saline touch.
